Mission of the Student Wellbeing and Behaviour Team

The Student Wellbeing and Behaviour (SWB) Team at Al-Taqwa College aims to provide a comprehensive program that builds and encourages resilience, togetherness, supportive relationships and adherence to Islamic values, which will help students achieve successful pathways in a safe and caring environment.

We are committed to providing an inclusive and positive learning environment for all of our students and recognise the benefits of our College’s broad cultural backgrounds. Students are given opportunities to learn from each other and reach their full potential through helpful and encouraging learning environments where everyone can feel emotionally and physically safe.

Our team consists of staff members from culturally diverse and specialised backgrounds, all of whom are passionate about working with young people, instilling a sense of belonging and reflecting the College’s values of Respect, Responsibility, Cooperation, Honesty and Doing Your Best. We work collaboratively with school counsellors, staff, students and parents providing support and guidance. Our intention is to develop and deliver innovative practices that will:

Based on evidence-based principles of Positive Education, emphasis is placed on creating and fostering positive learning environments and recognising our students’ accomplishments through our merit system and Value of the Term Awards.
