Student Wellbeing

The Counselling and Welfare Department at Al-Taqwa College is dedicated to supporting the emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing of our students. We offer a safe, confidential, and inclusive space where students can seek support, talk through challenges, and develop strategies to cope with personal, academic, or social difficulties.

Our mission is to promote student wellbeing and resilience by providing accessible, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based support services. We aim to empower students to reach their full potential by fostering emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and healthy relationships. Our goals include early intervention, proactive wellbeing education, and building a strong

Care

Through individual counselling, group programs, and wellbeing initiatives, students develop essential life skills such as emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and self-confidence. We work collaboratively with families, teachers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student care and academic success.

What sets our department apart is our integration of Islamic values with psychological best practices. Our culturally informed approach ensures students feel understood, respected, and supported in a manner that aligns with their identity and faith. The department is staffed by a multidisciplinary team including a registered psychologist, social worker, and qualified counsellors, ensuring students have access to specialised and comprehensive care. We are committed to nurturing not only the academic but also the emotional and spiritual growth of every student.
