Child Department

The Child Safety Department at Al-Taqwa College is responsible for upholding the Child Safe Standards and ensuring the protection of all students from harm and abuse. We are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where every student is valued and protected.

Our mission is to embed a strong culture of child safety across the entire school community. We work to ensure that all students are protected from all forms of abuse and harm through clear policies, education, and preventative strategies. Our goals include ensuring compliance with legislation, fostering student empowerment, and continuously reviewing our child safety practices to remain effective and responsive.

Approach

Students learn best when they feel safe. Our department ensures that every child knows their rights, feels confident to speak up, and has access to trusted adults. We establish clear reporting pathways and respond promptly to any concerns to maintain a culture of accountability and care.

Our department takes a proactive, whole-school approach to child safety. We provide regular and comprehensive training not only to staff and school leadership, but also to college board, volunteers, contractors, parents, and students. This ensures that everyone in our community understands their role in preventing and responding to abuse or harm. At Al-Taqwa College, we are committed to fostering a school culture where student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.
